How to estimate pay

Use the official VA compensation table to find your monthly amount. Then you can multiply by 12 for an annual estimate or multiply by the number of owed months for a rough back-pay estimate.

Example: If your official monthly compensation is $4,646.32 and VA owes 7 months, a rough estimate would be $32,524.24 before any offsets or adjustments.

Actual back pay may depend on effective dates, staged ratings, dependency changes, retired pay offsets, severance recoupment, and partial-month rules.
